We met at Bend in the River Park in Rice Minnesota. The temperature was frigid and in true Minnesota fashion, the wind was making it much worse! These two love birds were champs though. Tori & Kody fully embraced the moment and made their engagement session so much fun! To try to combat the cold, we kept moving. Walking, piggy back rides, swooping each other up and snuggling to stay warm.

What I loved most about this session honestly wasn’t just the gorgeous scenery or that dreamy cinematic winter light, it was them. The way Tori & Kody instinctively leaned into each other for warmth, the way they laughed every time the wind whipped around us, the way they chose joy instead of fighting the cold… it all felt so effortless and so them. Turning 10-degree temps into part of their story is no small thing (trust me, I was personally dreaming of warm Minnesota summer weather by minute ten 😂), but they made it look easy and so full of life.
I am already counting down to their December wedding (and yes, I am absolutely hoping it’s warmer than 10 degrees!), but honestly? Weather doesn’t stand a chance against these two. Their love is steady, joyful, and so full of life and I feel SO lucky I get to photograph it.
I seriously cannot wait to cheer for their marriage and celebrate them all over again!!!
